Team Scotland back at the Emirates

Team Scotland track and field stars will be back in international action – at the Emirates Arena in January.

Six months after the curtain came down on the Commonwealth Games at Hampden, the Glasgow International will once again take place at the 5000-capacity indoor venue in the city.

And, following the success of the January 2014 event, a ‘Team Scotland’ will compete in the four-nation match – this time with Team GB and NI, France and Germany in opposition.

It will all take place at the Emirates Arena on Saturday 24 January and scottishathletics members are receiving a 20 percent discount for a ‘pre-sale’ period thanks to our friends at British Athletics.

scottishathletics members should have now received an email offering a special code and the pre-sale period opens today (Thursday) at 10am and runs until midnight on Sunday 2 November.

It is a brilliant opportunity to watch international athletics back in Glasgow after the excitement of the Commonwealth Games.

Team Scotland stars thrilled the Emirates audience back in January this year when the likes of Chris O’Hare, Libby Clegg, Laura Muir, Stef Reid and Guy Learmonth enjoyed event wins. There is a series of interviews on our YouTube channel – scottishathletics TV.

The 2015 event is now another huge moment of opportunity and will offer top Scottish athletes with a big selection incentive over the coming weeks and the start of the indoor season.

We will have more on this event over the next few weeks but, for the moment, we’d urge members not to miss out on your chance to support Scotland at the Sainsbury’s Glasgow International Match at the Emirates Arena on January 24.
