The Scottish Mid-Trail Champs are being held on Saturday 27 August in Fife and online entry is still available.
Fife AC have kindly agreed to host the championships, with Strathmiglo as the start/finish location for races for all age groups. There are medals on offer from U15 through to U20/Seniors/Masters.
More than 120 athletes have entered so far for August 27 and the Senior races are contested by men and women, in the same race, over a distance of around 12K.
We are already seeing entries from host club Fife AC, Cumbernauld AAC, Hunters Bog Trotters, Dundee Road Runners, Cambuslang, Forfar, Edinburgh Uni Hares and Hounds, Carnethy, Giffnock North AAC, Shettleston, Lomond Hill Runners and Garscube Harriers. But would be great if a few more clubs supported this event.
There are U11 and U13 development races, too, but these are not part of the Scottish Championships as Fife AC host their ‘Festival of Trail Running’ and welcome all standard of athletes from beginners in this discipline to Scotland internationals.
Entries remain open online via the EntryCentral website.

The U20/Senior/Masters race for men and women is over 12K with the U15 and U17 mixed gender races over 5K. For the U11 and U13 races, the distance is 3K.

The National XC Relays are being held in October as usual – and once again the venue will be Cumbernauld Park with thanks to our hosts at North Lanarkshire Council.
Saturday 22 October is the date for this very popular fixture, which is already listed on our Events page Winter Calendar
Following discussions by the Road Running and Cross County Commission, there is a change this year at Senior level for the Women’s race. The Senior/U20 Women’s race will now consist of four legs – rather than three in previous years.
