Online Entry for Seniors and U17s
What does it feel like to be Scottish champion? Or to get on the podium at a National Championship? Or even to walk away with a PB under your belt from the indoor season?
There’s only one way to find out – you gotta be in it, to win it – so we’re looking now for entries from the Scottish Senior Champs and the Scottish U17 Champs.
It all happens at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow on Saturday 30 January and for the first time we’ve combined these events with one of the reasons for the that the chance for our promising U17 athletes to be inspired by their Senior club-mates as well as helping ease scheduling around the Age Group Champs.
So the time is right now to enter for January 30 and indeed there is only a week left with entries to close at midnight on WEDNESDAY 13 JANUARY.
The Senior Champs should be one of the highlights of indoor competition for athletes in that category and for 2016 it falls a couple of weeks after the National Open and prior to the British Champs in Sheffield in February.
We’re taking entries ONLINE for the Scottish Seniors and those can be made through the specific page on our Events section.
Laura Muir and Ben Greenwood are among those we are expecting to race that day and it is not so very long ago both were competing at U17 level – in the case of GB World Youths international Ben, just last year!
High jumpers were firmly to the fore at the Scottish Seniors in 2015 with Allan Smith and David Smith both clearing 2.25m and claiming Native Records, on a day when Ray Bobrownicki also went over at 2.20m.
Aberdeen athlete Zoey Clark won a 60m and 200m sprint double with PBs in both events and there were golds for the likes of Sarah Warnock, Kirsty Yates and Grant Plenderleith.
We’d certainly love to see Team Scotland athletes supporting the indoor champs once again in 2016.
