Former GB and NI triple jumper Aston Moore will deliver a special jumps  session at our Coaching Conference in September.

The Emirates Arena in Glasgow will again be the venue on the weekend of September 24/25 and sign-ups are being taken now via our booking form.

It promises to be another highly productive weekend for coaches, operating at whatever level, and we’ve experts in a number of event fields.

Moore certainly comes into that category in terms of the horizontal jumps.

He is a former track and field athlete who competed for GB and NI, specialising in the triple jump event. Moore competed at the 1976 Montreal Olympics. He won a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games in 1978 and 1982 with England and also won a bronze medal with GB and NI at the European Indoor Championships in 1981.

Moore has now been coaching for many years and today he is widely recognised as one of the foremost experts in the field of fitness and physical conditioning, as he specialises as a horizontal jumps coach.

Aston is currently the British Athletics Senior Institute Coach for Horizontal Jumps where he is the personal coach to some of the leading jumpers in the country, including European bronze medallist Julian Reid.

He has also worked with athletes such as British Record holder Ashia Hansen (former indoor world record holder) and former World Champion and Olympic Silver medallist, Phillips Idowu. He also coaches Scottish Para athlete, Stef Reid, who was last month named for the Paralympics in Rio.

Session Overview:

At the Conference on September 24/25, Aston will be delivering a presentation on his approach to successfully coaching the jumps.

Over the weekend, Aston will also deliver a number of practical sessions on specific plyometric conditioning for the jumper and on the teaching of horizontal jumps.
