The District Championships take place this weekend at three venues across the country with hundreds of athletes involved.
It is an important start of the championship season with scottishathletics – as always – grateful for the support from clubs, coaches, parents, volunteers and officials.
Inverness stages the North District champs in one day on Saturday while the East and West are at Pitreavie and Kilmarnock respectively for action on Friday evening and Saturday.
Once again it promises to be an exciting weekend with medals, final places, PBs and good performances up for grabs in the age groups from U13 right through to Senior athletes.
Participation is important to us, as is competition, and we’re certain those involved at the three venues will be working hard to ensure good events. Thanks, in advance, to our band of scottishathletics officials – ahead of a very busy and exciting 2014 season.
Timetables are online on the calendar page of this website.

Of course it is another big weekend across all levels of competition, with elite Scottish athletes involved in the IAAF World Relays with Team GB and NI via Eillidh Child and Jamie Bowie as well as events elsewhere.
But we’re acutely aware the ‘stars of tomorrow’ make a start at fixtures such as the District Champs and
all at scottishathletics wish you the very best of luck.

*Due to personal circumstances, and holiday entitlement, we will have very limited coverage of the Districts. There should be some photographs on Facebook and some kind of round-up by next Tuesday. Thanks.
