scottishathletics are pleased to launch the full programme for the 2016 National Coaching Conference.

The Emirates Arena in Glasgow is once again the venue for the event, which takes place over the weekend of September 24/25.

Building on the success of the 2015 conference and following feedback received from the attending delegates, we have produced a truly world-class line up for 2016.

Our 2016 Coaching Conference brings together some of the world’s leading coaches to present and discuss key themes important to developing athletes  – planning; athletic development and physical preparation; and technical development.

The Coaching Conference forms a core part of the National Coach Development Programme and will involve a series of practical sessions, seminars, and workshops led by international and expert coaches.

If you are a club coach, development coach, performance coach, or a coach working with disability athletes, then this conference has something to offer you.

Coaches to Olympians are very prominent this year including Andy Young (Laura Muir) and Robert Hawkins (Callum Hawkins and Derek Hawkins) as well as Aston Moore, who coaches Scottish Paralympic medal-hope, long-jumper Stef Reid.

Jared Deacon to present at Coaching Conference 2016

Jared Deacon coached Emily Diamond to 4 x 400m bronze in Rio while husband and wife team, Trevor Painter and Jenny Meadows, will lead one of our endurance breakouts.

With more than a dozen key leads involved, across various Events, there really is a vast pool of experience and knowledge from which Scottish coaches can lean on September 24/25.

Coaches can choose from a range of breakout sessions across the weekend that are relevant to their event group and stage of athlete development.

Places for the weekend cost £30 for scottishathletics coach members and £130 for non-members. For group bookings, the cost of the conference is £25 per person for 10 or more places (scottishathletics coach members only).
