Alan Fowler, club governance expert has confirmed for the scottishathletics Club Leaders Conference at Hampden Park on Saturday November 22. This free conference for Scottish athletics clubs is targeted at club leaders, committees and development staff.
Alan is the Capacity Building Officer for Fife Voluntary Action (FVA) with a remit for supporting local sports clubs, amongst other voluntary groups. He has helped numerous sports clubs including several athletics clubs and is the organisation’s resident expert in club governance and legal structures.
Alan has been supporting the work of the scottishathletics Development Team for the past 12 months and has supported a number of Scottish athletics clubs in changing their governance structures in the past 6 months. He will provide an informative session for club leaders on the options around governance and legal structures with particular emphasis on unincorporated associations, charitable status, Scottish charitable incorporated organisations (SCIOs), CASCs and companies limited by guarantee as well as charities and companies limited by guarantee.
