Athletes gathered at three venues for the Scottish District track and field Championships last weekend.
The East and West staged action on Friday evening and Saturday at Pireavie and Kilmarnock respectively with weather conditions affecting some of the performances.
In the North, good conditions in Inverness on Saturday helped contribute to a fine day of athletics at Queen’s Park Stadium.
There were no fewer than 10 Championships Best performances at the North Districts event and a remarkable 246 Personal Bests recorded
The athletes coming up with Championship Best performances at Inverness were as follows:
In the West, the roll of honour included a host of familiar names with those picking up district champs golds including the likes of John Ball, Chris Baillie, Ross Maxwell, Fraser O’Rourke, Mhairi Hendry, Eilidh Gibson, Chloe Lambert, Erin Wallace and Pamela McNicol.
As always on these occasions, athletes and coaches are hugely reliant on officials, volunteers and those who help pull together results afterwards.
With the East and West taking place as two-day events, it was a particularly long shift for those involved there and scottishathletics are grateful for such commitment to the sport.
We’ve had dozens of photographs displayed on our scottishathletics Facebook page and scottishathletics would like to thank Phil Downie, Bobby Gavin and Steve Adam for their sterling contributions from the three venues.
