Action from the 2015 Masters XC Champs
Cross country is right at the top of the agenda for the start of 2016 and the scottishathletics Masters XC Champs will be held at the end of January.
Kilmarnock was the venue for a great event back almost 12 months ago and this time the medals will be contested at Grant Park in Forres on Saturday 30 January.
That means the time is right for Masters athletes and clubs to be getting their entries in – with those being taken by post by Alex Jackson. The closing date for entries is Saturday 16 January.
All the details for the event, including the postal address for those entries is on the specific page on our Events section.
Masters XC championships are held in five-year age categories for athletes aged 40 or over on the day of the race (30 January 2016). The M40, M45, M50, M55 and M60 compete over 8K with all women and M65, M70 etc racing over 6K.
Team medals are awarded for teams of four in the M40 to M60 categories for first, second and third; teams medals for teams of three in the Women’s race for first, second and third teams.
Further details on the medals available are within the information sheet on the Events page.
Kilmarnock Harriers staged this event twice in the past four years and thanks in advance to Forres Harriers for stepping up to the mark this time around and accepting the responsibility as host club for 2016.
