Edinburgh AC won the overall team title at the Scottish Senior Championships.

And the capital club also proved the best cumulative tallies in track and field at the Age Group Champs in the U20, U17 and U13 categories.

There was overall success for Pitreavie AAC at the U15 level at the Age Group Champs in Aberdeen on a good weekend for the Dunfermline-based club.

Aberdeen AAC picked up three fourth place finishes across the spectrum (Senior, U20, U17, U15 and U13 were the categories) as well as a second place at U13, while Giffnock North had three fifth places.

And Inverness Harriers proved their hard work on youth development is paying off with second-place at U17 and third-place at U15 levels.

Victoria Park City of Glasgow and Central AC ran Edinburgh closest in the Seniors following the Championships at Kilmarnock on August 16/17. Edinburgh amassed 8757 points with VP-Glasgow second on 7655 and Central at 6472.

Inverness: strong on throws

Good to see various coaching teams at clubs enjoying event group success like Kilbarchan AAC at U17 Endurance; Whitemoss AC at U15 Jumps; Moray Road Runners at U20 Throws and Inverness Harriers at U17 Throws.

These clubs and others will now be the recipients of a unique coach development opportunity for a coach working with that respective age group and that event group within the club.

The specific opportunity will depend upon the experience and development requirements for that individual coach, and suitable opportunities being available.

For example, this may take the form of support to a European event/event group conference, a British Athletics coaching weekend, or financial support towards coach education amongst other areas. The support will be agreed with the scottishathletics Director of Coaching in due course.

Congratulations to those clubs involved in high place finishes across the various Event Group sections at Seniors and Age Groups Champs.
