Club ‘healthchecker’ available plus helpline

Monday 7th March 2016

Spikes on track

As part of the scottishathletics Development Team’s ongoing support for clubs, and in partnership with GB Sport, we have created an online ‘healthchecker’ for clubs.

This software was launched in February 2016 to clubs involved in the Club 20:20 modernisation project, but is now available to all clubs in Scotland at no charge.

The healthchecker has been designed as a support tool to club committees and management boards, and clubs can log in via the Club Portal system and complete the checks. It has been designed to support clubs of all sizes to establish where they are performing well and where they can potentially develop further.

It will help clubs to identify and prioritise areas for improvement and provide helpful information and support which is bespoke to the answers provided.

The software is designed in a way that allows clubs to select sections which are relevant to them or sections that they wish to prioritise in the short term. The software also allows the key actions and priorities subsequently identified to be transferred into our online planning software (available from April for Club 20:20 clubs)

Mark Munro: reference point for clubs

Mark Munro, Head of Development has been leading the project.

‘The healthchecker has been developed in consultation with clubs and provides a reference point for clubs seeking to develop themselves further,’ said Mark.

‘It forms one part of a series of software developments and we will be launching the online training modules for club leaders in mid-March followed by the planning software and bookkeeping software in early April.

‘We will also be updating all the toolkit resources and this will all be available via a new club portal.

‘Clubs should also remember that we have developed a series of external partnerships, who are available to work with clubs on the ground, including advice about governance and legal status, finance, tax, employment, marketing and communications amongst other areas.’

Login details are specific to individual clubs and have been communicated via club secretaries. If you require your login details please contact Mark Munro (mark.munro@scottishathletics.org.uk).
