Tweet about the Age Groups on #SALAgeGroups
The Scottish Age Group Champs were centre stage at the weekend at the Emirates Arena as U20, U15 and U23 athletes chased PBs, final places and medals.
Once again big participation numbers gathered and there were some terrific performances – with almost 40 athletes adding their names to the top 10 in the Scottish all-time lists in those three age groups.
We’d like to think, too, that it was a successful event in terms of our communications with live Results, Twitter, vine posts, photographers and Facebook updates.
Now, with grateful thanks to John Elliott for his contributions, we’re able to offer a link to video footage from around 20 events – with races from both Saturday and Sunday covered.
Check out the videos online here:

This is an area we would like to expand, via volunteer offerings from parents and coaches, but obviously a certain level of quality would be necessary in the footage.
It may well be something we can explore and expand in the summer at the outdoor Age Groups (in the meantime, please don’t ask for certain events which took place over the weekend; everything John filmed is on the link supplied).
*Daniel MacFarlane. We are pleased to report that U20 pole vaulter Daniel is on the road to recovery following an accident during Saturday’s action at the Emirates.
He was hurt when his pole snapped and thanks to the scottishathletics officials and medical staff was taken to hospital for check-ups. We were advised by the MacFarlanes on Sunday that he was discharged on Saturday evening and is okay.
We’re happy to pass on the family’s thanks to the officials and medical staff and all those who expressed their concern following the incident.
