Conference Booking Form (With Breakouts)
Endurance coaches really are well-served with options for our forthcoming Coaching Conference at the Emirates Arena.
And one of those they can learn from is currently guiding the career of Dutch middle distance runners – Sifan Hassan.
Hassan is one of Laura Muir’s main rivals over 1500m and the mile and her coach, Honore Hoedt, joins Andy Young in our lineup for the Emirates Arena on the weekend of September 24/25.
Building on the success of the 2015 conference and following feedback received from the attending delegates, we have produced a truly world-class line up for 2016.
Our 2016 Coaching Conference brings together some of the world’s leading coaches to present and discuss key themes important to developing athletes – planning; athletic development and physical preparation; and technical development.
The Coaching Conference forms a core part of the National Coach Development Programme and will involve a series of practical sessions, seminars, and workshops led by international and expert coaches.
If you are a club coach, development coach, performance coach, or a coach working with disability athletes, then this conference has something to offer you.

Andy Young will present at Conference, too
A number of those involved are coaches to Olympians and Hoedt is in that category – with Hassan having won the World Indoor Champs in Portland earlier this year, as well as having European titles to her name. Sifan was fifth in the 1500m final in Rio.
Honore is the former head endurance coach with both the Netherlands and Norway and has vast experience.
During his coaching career, in addition to Hassan, Honore has coached a number of athletes to the Olympics; Gert Jan Liefers, Bram Som and Robert Lathouwers. He has also produced three European Gold medallists; Bram Som in 2006, Arnoud Okken in 2007 and Hassan in 2014.
Here’s the Session Overview:
‘Olympic Coach Hoedt will draw on his years of expertise and success and deliver a presentation on his approach to coaching middle distance. In the presentation Honore will show examples of session planning and scheduling employed for World Indoor Champion and Rio Olympic finalist, Sifan Hassan, in the 1500m.
‘Honore will also share some of the work he has been carrying out in identifying talented athletes in schools. This session will be suitable for any endurance coach working with developing athletes.’
