The Glasgow Athletics Association and scottishathletics are gearing up for Friday night athletics in the city on April 17.
But entries for the 10,000m track championship, a special ‘Night of the 10ks’ at Hutchesons Grammar School, will close this Friday – April 10.
Scottish title medals are up for grabs and that includes Masters age-groups.
There are no entries taken on the night for this event, which also comes under the auspices of the British Milers Club. That means paced races which hopefully gives you a good chance to record a best time for the distance.
This format was followed for the 3000m indoor champs in January at the Emirates Arena and proved popular as scottishathletics and the GAA seek to raise standards in endurance running.
Hutchesons Grammar School in Glasgow hosted the 10,000m champs last April as Luke Traynor (Giffnock North) and Fiona Matheson (Falkirk Vics) won the gold medals.
We had a terrific entry of around 60 athletes that night – with dozens recording PBs – and we’d love to see those folk back again seeking to improve or others trying 10,000m on the track for the first time.
Entry is via the BMC website and there is a link to that on our Events page.
But, remember, the event entries will close on Friday . . .
